Thomas Lisle is a British digital artist based in London. He began creating glitch videos in the style of paintings in the early 1980s, making him one of the pioneers of glitch art. Lisle works in 3D animation, painting, digital art, and installations. His works reflect his intention to create new forms using digital tools, alongside his interest in psychology and the environment. His artworks are part of the collections at Tate Modern in London and MoMA in New York.
Thomas was inspired into art early on as the son of renowned British painter and art professor Frank Lisle, who taught notable contemporary artist David Hockney during his tenure as Head of Art at Bradford College of Art, United Kingdom. In the digital age, Thomas has developed a new form of digital painting that he calls "Time-Based Paintings."
