Chunbum Park, also known as Chun, is a multi-disciplinary artist who works in both figuration and abstract via acrylic paintings, digital photography, and digital illustration. Park deals with the concepts of gender fluidity and racialization of beauty to arrive at their figurative works in painting and performative photography, in which they seek to see themselves in the painting as a mirror. They also engage with abstraction in painting and abstract photography in order to express their spiritual side of existence, detaching from the carnal desire for the flesh and flesh-bound beauty. Park usually appears as male but dresses up as a woman for special occasions and performance.
