Michele Pred is a Swedish-American conceptual artist known for her sculptures, assemblages, and performances. She explores cultural and political meanings behind everyday objects, focusing on feminist themes like equal pay, reproductive rights, and personal security. Post-9/11, she examined personal space and security using airport-confiscated items and addressed reproductive rights with expired birth control pills. Pred's modified vintage handbags highlight the struggle for women's rights. She organized notable parades like the Parade against Patriarchy during Art Basel 2017 and We Vote in NYC for the 2018 midterms. In 2019, she led Civil Discourse during Miami Art Week. Represented by the Nancy Hoffman Gallery in New York, her work is in permanent collections at the 9/11 Museum, FIT, Berkeley Art Museum, and Honolulu Museum of Art, and has been exhibited globally.
