Esteban Whiteside, a self-taught painter from Asheville, NC, is renowned for his politically charged artwork addressing social issues in the Black community. Esteban's collaboration with artist B. Robert Moore on "Amerikkan Monopology Game (The Monopoly of Gentrification)" further elevated his fame. The series replaces Monopoly's iconic locations with politically charged properties, exposing the impact of gentrification and the historic exploitation of Black people through land ownership.
